On July 12, 2016, News 12 Westchester reported that the Yonkers Inspector General is calling for the termination of the Yonkers Federation of Teachers Union officials who were caught on camera by Project Veritas.
One week following the release of Project Veritas’s undercover investigation into the Yonkers teachers union, News 12 reported that Brendan McGrath, the Yonkers Inspector General launched an investigation into the Yonkers Federation of Teachers. “My investigation is designed to get the truth, and to root out fraud abuse and corruption,” said McGrath.
In a report addressed to Mayor Mike Spano which was released July 11, 2016, the IG recommended the immediate termination of Yonkers Federation of Teachers President Patricia Puleo and Executive Vice President Paul Diamond.
Yonkers City Council President Liam McLaughlin agrees that Puleo and Diamond should be terminated. “The fact that these two Board of Education employees failed to cooperate with his investigation, I believe is a further indictment of their actions,” said McLaughlin.
